The software we use at Enhance Product Development is the most popular 2D/3D design software in the industry. All of our designers have extensive experience working with this program and its many features. Below is an overview in how the CAD software works.
SolidWorks (CAD Model Phase)
Solidworks is a powerful 3D solid modeler for mechanical and product designing applications. Building a model in SolidWorks usually starts with a 2D or 3D sketch. The sketch consists of geometry such as points, lines, arcs, and splines. Dimensions are added to the sketch to define the size and location of the geometry. Relations are used to define attributes such as tangency, parallelism, perpendicularity, and concentricity. A solid shape will be created based on one or multiple sketches and relations. Because of all these different elements controlling a shape of solid, sometimes it is very complicated to make changes. That is why it is important to use ideation sketches to comprehensively plan everything well before we jump into CAD model phase.
The CAD model included in our Gold package is used for creating rendering images for visual and licensing purpose.
